Thomas TribbyThomas Tribby grew up in the west and overseas, living for a time in Arizona and California. As a child he lived for four years in Carmel-by-the-Sea. It was here that he was introduced to Fine Art. This seaside environment is a natural attraction for artists with its untamed surf and bleached white beaches. Carmel had many fine galleries and a very active artist association. These were an inspiration to Tribby and laid the foundation for his interest in painting.Tribby pursued these interests at the University of Washington in Seattle, where he studied art for two years before transferring to the University of California at Berkeley, where he received his degree in painting. He completed his education at Arizona State University, where he studied in the Master of Fine Arts program. Tribby is a highly admired and celebrated professional painter, sculptor and printmaker. His artwork has a wonderful idiosyncratic style that is instantly recognizable as his own. He is well known for his command of the figure and his sensitive still life work.
